2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission A-pillar gauge mount

I tink my toddler son displaced my service maual cd for me. My new tripple mount a- pillar gauge mount is due from geno's on thursday and im not real sure how to remove or install the a-pillar cover. The gal at geno's said the gauge mount is a total repalcement. Maybe Im jumping the gun here and it will come with instructions... .



Any one know how that thing comes off with out tearing the hell out of evrything??

The original a pillar is just clipped on. They are hard to get off i broke the upper one on mine getting it off so be careful. I dont know about instructions I ordered my from diesel manor and it didn't come with much in the name of instructions. If you have a tweeter and ordered an a-pillar with a tweeter your will have to modify your original a-pillar to get them to line up correctly. Or at least I have to and that was the hardest part of the install.

Pull off the door weatherstrip. Starting at the top ,on the door opening side, gently wedge your fingers under the cover. Now pull straight down towards the floor..... do not pry sideways. There are 3 spring clips and they will pull out easily.



My 2 gauge full pillar cover was placed over top of the original.

The autometer pods fit on over the stock pillar cover and need to be painted to match.

I installed mine over the original A piller. I did the same thing as NCoulter and broke the top clip. If I remember correctly, I didn't remove any door seal. After removing the screws, The A piller cover has to be removed by moving the cover sideways torwards the front and inside of the truck . I'm not sure I can describe it but if you are sitting in the door facing forward, the A pillar needs to move to the right at a 15 to 45 degree angle from straight ahead (probably closer to 15 degrees).

It sounds like some have just put the mount over the orig. cover? I at least now have an idea what to do, I'll have to get the new parts in hand and see how they compare.



Paint will have to come later, which means it'll probly be black for a long time



Is there an interior paint? or does some one (should have asked geno's) know a paint number to pick up at napa? I have to install this sat. for going out of town next week, and I really want my new fuel pressure gauge in for the trip.

My stock interior was the Agate (almost black or light black) color. Mopar number E82201399



The stock black color is almost the same..... I don't think you would be able to tell if I had just installed the cover without paint.

Better hold off until after the trip. . If you find a problem it will make you ill to have to look at it the entire trip.





Mine was that grey/agate color... My pod is black and I intend to paint the other post black too someday.

Mine was broken when I bought the truck so it was easy to remove. I took those black plastic clips and JB welded them to the new A pillar after eyeball measuring them to the truck. Hooked back in like the factory A pillar. Didnt bother to paint it as I like the black pillar better than the factory grey.

Would strongly suggest waiting to install until after the trip. Painting it afterwards would be a pain. Get the interior color codes from the sticker on your truck (mine was on the driver's door post). Purchased the interior color from the dealer. It was nearly a perfect match.

It looks like Ill be able to paint today, actualy. Recieved parts yeaterday, and I dont think I'll take the orig. cover off in the first place. My dual gage mount is put on with wires & such between it and th orig. cover, and that will work for this oone too.



Genos did send great instructions for the gauge and mount, thanks guys!



As far as my travels next week, Im only going about an hour away, but Im staying in a hotel till thurs and wont have my tools or a place to work. Just some factory training on some newer excavators we have.

I apriciate the input, I dind realize dealer had inside trim paint.

Thanks guys, it turned out ok after all, and biggy, FP is ok, but just ok.

14 idle, but a WOT run through 4th gets it down to about 7 or 8. hmmmm.
