Installed Di-Pricol gauges Thursday night. With the help of KCook I started under the hood, tapped Exhaust manifold, Installed Boost bushing, etc. Ken was in the cab with the A-Pillar & guages. All was going un-eventful until it was time to replace the transmission line with the new replacement line for the Auto Trans sending unit with the 3\8" opening.

I first unhooked the line @ the heat exchanger & then proceeded to unhook the line @ the transmission. Oops, here comes the trans fluid! I finally got the new line installed after losing 3 1\2 qts of transmission fluid. What a friggin mess. It's been a long time since I used my hair as a sponge for transmission fluid. I did however learn a valuable lesson for anyone that is going to install the new transmission line with the port for the trans sending unit.

When installing the new trans line, after removing the check valve from the line, leave that short piece of hose off the line that attachs to the heat exchanger. By leaving it off it is 110 X easier to get the line started in the side of the transmission. After trying unsucessfully to get this line started I gave up & put a bucket under the transmission to catch the last of the 3. 5 qts that leaked out.

(1\2 qt. in the bucket 3 qts on the floor & all over me)

All is good now & all guages are installed. They look AWESOME & WORK GREAT! Sorry the post was so long but I thought someone might benefit from my mishap.

I know what you're talking about. When I installed my new trans line I loosened the trans fitting and realized it was going to be a mess so I took an empty one gallon oil container, cut off the top, cleaned it out and drained the trans fluid into it. After the install I just dumped it back in. Also, the first time I installed the line the threads on the temp sender had a slow leak. So I had to do the drain again, seal it with permatex, then refill. Works fine know. Good luck!
