Does anybody know if there is a manufacturer out there that makes a 3 gauge pillar mount with tweeter that will install direct (already has the tabs on the rear)? I have decided to go from 2 to gauges but would like to just paint and install.

Thanks,

Doug

The autometer one doesn't have the tabs on the back. I think that Doug wants one that has the clips on the back like the factory one so it'll just snap in place. As far as I know, nobody makes them. :( You could go to a junkyard, get a used a pillar and superglue a tab or 2 to the replacement cover. I think that's what I'm going to do one of these days... I've been saying that for 6 months now... :) Most people just put a screw through the replacement. For now it's held on by rubber bands from the inside (top gauge to a peg). I dunno, I wish somebody made a snap in replacment, they'd sell a lot of them.

Thats what I want! I mounted a 2 gauge a year or two ago, had to cut the heck out of my OEM pillar and riveted them together. I was hoping to avoid this hassle again.

Doug,

Now I know what you were looking for. Why did you rivet them together. I mounted my Autometer 2 hole pillar by just taking the stock piece out, mounting the gauges to the new one, then just putting it all back on the truck. It is held in place by the door trim, and a small screw at the top that is not even that noticable (counter sunk the screw and painted it to match the interior color)... Have Fun... ;)

Jetpilot...

Do you have agate interior? If so I'd love to buy the old one off ya... I thought the replacements were exact factory matches :( about to buy 2 Isspro's within the week.

I could be wrong here, but I don't think you can use the top clip on the 3 guage A pillar(if you were to epoxy on the clips from a junkyard find or dealer order) as the top guage is exactly where the clip needs to go---chris

FYI I have built several pillar mounts to clip right on. I start with the Autometer gauge mount and epoxy on some blocks and screw the stock clips to them and presto you have a stock looking pillar with gauges. If you are interested let me know I might be persuaded to build you one up.

aw shucks I know Blair's track record I just never knew anyone who'd done and I didn't know he'd done it---I guess I missed that post ----chris

Hey John nice to here from you again, the trailer is doing fine and we are enjoying it very much.

A-pillar mount

after anguishing over this for a coupla weeks, i just shut my eyes and cut the top portion off my original pillar cover--just below the clip. put it back on the truck. put as many tabs of 3M molding mount tape inside the gauge mount piece, and snapped it back into place. works great. my thinking is that if i sell the truck, it's very unlikely i would take the gauges out anyway. TOO MUCH WORK. if i replace the truck, i'd almost assuredly want the newest and best gauges in the next goat. that being said, it worked great!!;) , and the top gauge is just below the clip... ... .
