A-pillar pod

Does anyone with the dark gray interior have an A-pillar pod that they have painted to match? I called up a body shop to do it but they want $100 to do it. I've been trying to find some vinyl dye that will match but i can't find any. If anyone can help me out i'd appreciate it.

I'll get the color # off of the dupont brand I did mine with tomorrow morning.





If you find a local dupont dealer. They will have color chips to match your up with. From what I have seen. The color you pick. Go one color darker for the mix. It will be right on. For some reason the chips are darker than the mix will be.

I went to a paint store locally and brought a piece of gray panel with me. Held the paint strips up to my panel and found the color that I wanted. They had somewhat of a limited variety for acrylic paint, which is necessary for the pillar. I paid just under $10 for a spray can, a lot cheaper than getting a special mix. Good luck.

This is the product you need a spray gun for. Have them check and see what the # crosses to for a ready mixed spray can. This shade is just a little lighter. But in the position the gage pod is in. You can't tell it.

Chris, I went to the local body shop supply house. They made it easy. They found the dark gray interior color in their book and made me a custom mixed spray can. I think it was about $12. The match wasn't perfect, but very close. Probably more due to age and fade of the truck than their mixing.



If you can't get it done locally, let me know.

Thanks allot for all the replies i talked to a shop here in town and they have a two can minimum so i don't know what i'm gonna do right now. I think i might just leave it black for right now but then i think about it sitting there and i don't think i could stand to have it a different color but maybe i'll try it. But anyways thanks for the replies. Does anyone have any pictures of there pods after they painted them?

I borrowed or used some paint a fellow GLTDR member had. Check with some members in you area. I bet you might get some paint pretty quick.

Since most of you guys have the pillar mount gauges, I got a question. How do you like the angle of the gauges now that they are mounted. I got mine mounted and they point WAY up. Almost like the pod was not made for my truck. Anybody elses this way?

they point up really high but if your a tall guy there alright. I'm 6'4" and there alright for me. But if you've noticed our cab isn't very tall either though. I think that is why they didn't make any three guage pods. I think they look pretty good though. I finally just installed mine as it came, i didn't paint it. It was making me mad that i couldn't match the paint and i called up a paint shop here in vegas and they wanted like $50 to match some paint

I' 6'1" but mostly leg so I don't sit really tall in the seat. I didn't paint mine either. I have decided to eventually make a custom dash insert with all aftermarket gauges that match. Not a realy big deal, did it on my '75.
