removal

pull from the top along the windshield, very carefully, there are 3 metal clips, top, mid, and bottom, don't be afraid to pull, it is very easy;)

A tip to remember, if once you take it down, it does not want to stay up, take a flat blade screwdriver and spread the top tab apart. I took mine down once before i put the gauge pod in and it would fall every week.

I remember reading here a while back that someone broke the metal tabs off of the plastic a-pillar when they went to remove it. What I do is pull the weatherstrip away from the a-pillar area first. Then I take a thin flat-blade screwdriver and slide it in the area where the weatherstrip was and push the metal tabs in and release them using the screwdriver. The a-pillar just about falls off and you don't have to worry about pulling the clips off. :) :)

why do you want to drill holes

Hi alvin, why cut holes, do you have the whole A-pillar? I can understand why the holes but if you have the whole thing why not just use it as a replacement. That way you save your stock one and don't cut it up. I might be heading the wrong way if you don't have the full A-pillar. It just requires one screw a small block of wood for behind it and a screw cap to hide the screw. Just a suggestion, good luck. Dwayne:cool:

I left my OEM pillar intact and just mounted the replacement pillar. Works great and stays in place with just the one screw method. Easy to do.

Just installed my gauges in the a-pillar this weekend, removed the oem and used one screw for new 3 gauge pod, worked fine.

There are way to many wires etc to be feeding thru the oem pillar, better off just removing it. I may be slow moving but man, installing those 3 gauges was one long time consuming job. Sure am glad to have'em though.
