Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Driving on the Baltimore beltway the other day I got in the right lane to take the exit for RT83N. This is a 2 lane ramp and the lane on the right merges into the left one. A little ways before this merge a Chevy dually comes rolling by me, cuts in front of me at the end of his lane and then jumps over one more lane to the left of me and starts accelerate. Then I see his brake lights come on and he slows down till he’s even with me. I look over to see 3 guys crammed in the front seat waving their hands around telling me to race. I smile. 
The driver punches the pedal and pulls ahead of me a few feet and slows down again.
At this point were doing about 50 mph in a 60 mph speed limit where most folks drive 70. I look over, smile, reach up and turn the OD off. The truck slows a bit and I touch the pedal to get up even with them. Another glance over at them, another smile and a nod and the pedal goes to the floor. I hold it for a couple seconds till I reach 65mph, turn OD on and I’m gone. At this point the Chevy is 2+ truck lengths behind me eating smoke and fading fast. I ease off and take the next exit towards York Rd. and he slides in behind me.
Up the road a bit he gets beside me at a stoplight. Hmmm More fun. The light turns green and we both nail the go pedal. Quickly he’s out in front of me by about ½ a length when the Ol’ Cummins decides enough is enough. The ATS controller locks up the TC at about 25 mph and the boost gauge jumps to 35+ at the same time. Black smoke everywhere! I pass him around 45mph and slow down for the next stop light. Once more the same scenario plays out between us and I ease of the pedal around 55 mph and slow down to allow him to catch up. Instead he pulls in behind and follows up the road for a bit till I turn into the parking lot at BlockBuster. I park and he parks next to me. He gets out and we chat for a bit about what each of us has done to our trucks. Very pleasant fellow. He just installed some $800 Dynomite (?) box and was out to take a test ride with his buddies. He couldn’t believe how much power I had with just a couple hundred bucks worth of TST magic. We shake hands and part ways. He idles through parking lot and eases back onto York Rd.
That’s when I notice his 30 day temporary tag……
