We have a 95/2500 at work. The trans has been rebuilt,but it has a hard time to get into overdrive. There is just no power in the engine,almost pedal to the floor to go 60mph. With the throttle that far into it sometimes it wont go into od. This couldn't fall out of a tree if it had to. Any idea's?

Could you give us some more info? How many miles are on the truck? What kind of mileage does it get? Gear ratio? Automatic, i assume? Tell us all you can and someone will help you.

This is a service truck,mileage (mpg) has never been checked. There is different people driving a the time. It has a lot of idle time(1200rpm)with the compressor running. It has approx. 260,000 kilometers on it. The fuel filter is new. Tommorrow i'm going to check the prefilter. Thanks.

Check the Overflow valve. It should have 22PSI opening pressure and it's located up on the TOP corner of the injection by number 1 line. It's between the motor and the pump. The Overflow valve will cause loss of power, It will also cause loss of prime and can be attributed to many problems. Also check that there is no leaking lines. I don't know how to test the overflow valve but I know that it's suppose to be 22PSI from the service manual for my 95.

Following this, I would have the fuel pressure checked to make sure there is no lift pump problem.

Overflow valve spring should measure . 500, if not then stretch to . 550 and reinstall and some time down the road replace it. That is if it fixes the trouble.
