On my 2005 with a Goerend Trans I get a strange noise when towing the 5th wheel, it happens about 30% of the time, your on slight grade when the Torque Converter locks up about 45 mph the engine and drivetrain sort of jerk, the trans is rock solid, you hear a sound like a metal heat shield hitting something, but the truck doesn't have any heat shields, I put it on the rack, and checked the exhaust, u-joints, center support on the driveshaft, trans mount, all looks good. The u-joints are 12000 miles old, the center support has about 1/16th " of slop, normal I think, if you twist the driveshaft fore and aft there is some slop in the Transfer Case, that may be what I hear, my fear is I get stuck someplace far out in the sticks, it has done it without the trailer with less noise, but not often any ideas? thanks

I thought Turbo Bark is when your WOT then nothing, I am not doing that, maybe 3/4 throttle, then a shift from 2nd to 3rd, it sounds more like a driveline noise, or a fan clutch chirp, or rattle sound, it's hard to describe

I just did a search on Turbo Bark, yes, from the prior posts it appears that is what I have, now I have to experiment with towing to see if I can stop it, another reason to have a 68RFE trans, more gears to help with this problem.
