Competition I Hate The New Style Of Transfer Sleds

The A T P A has the rules posted now for both of the classes they are running in 05. You can see them at www.atpapullersonline.com, I didn't see any event locations yet hope they get them posted soon.

Who is going to run DHRA or ATPA ?? or both

Craig

ATPA pro-street rules look good for me other than i need a stack extension thats going to look dumb as hell coming out of my hood and going up to the height of the cab. Maybe i'll just leave the setup i got for the indoor pull on there and blow it all over the sled operator. :-laf I'm pulling both. You Craig? Matt

Not too bad; a few things make me go hmm;

For Super Stock; engine must have a deflection shield for the blocks full length? Where the does that go? There's certainly no room under the hood so the only thing left is to build a big box around the outside of the truck? :( I hope I'm missing something and having the engine under the hood is adequate! Anyone else have a take on it? Anyone ever see one of those things? I know the tractors have the engine 'boxed'; but those engines are open otherwise. I don't see how it's possible to box the engine of a stock bodied pickup. ... . well; now that I think of it maybe some bars could go across the frame bottom to support a box from the bottom; but there would have to be strategic gaps for various engine components so then it wouldn't be completely enclosed. That rule definitely needs clarification because it doesn't seem entirely possible unless we're pulling with "A-team" trucks or tanks and not pickups. I can hear Mr T now; "Pity the fool" ... .

Anyone have pics of an "axle shield"?

Justin are you done sled pulling?? or starting your own series?? :)

As far as I can see I shouldn't have a problem running either series but have to see both schedules to see if they overlap any weekends and/or other brush pulls that I might like to go to. We'll have to see what the payouts are also.

Should be a good year for truck pulling in general with plenty of hooks to be had and maybe even a chance at some money.

Craig

Its more complicated than that.

Which ATPA rules? West? East?

NW PA is having a points series, as is another group in Indiana.

This should be the best year yet, in Diesel 4x4 pulling. Never before, have we had this many classes, at this many venues.

About the only thing to do, is sit back, and study the schedules when they are released, decide what pulls you have the best chance of making, and then decide if you can compete in that series points race.

You know where I'll be, if I get my truck running, DHRA, NWPA, and any big midwest ATPA shows, time permitting. Chase the TV!!LOL

I am bringing it back up to the top because they have there schedule posted on there website for both classes now.
