First day noticed 2nd gear starts again-just changed the govenor pressure sensor and solenoid 700miles one month ago. It worked fine until yesterdays 2nd gear starts. This morning going to work 2 nd gear starts and when I got on the freeway it would not go into OD. Eight miles to work. First stoplight it slipped badly and would barely go. I was in heavy traffic and just wanted to get there so cnntinued. By the time I got to work I could not make it into the parking lot it was slipping so badly. I turned truck off and restarted and it would move enough to get it off the street at work. No code lights,no leaks under truck and fluid level ok fluid did not smell burnt. Tow truck came and drug it up the hill to transmission shop as I didn,t think it would make it. Give me your best ideas?? Thanks

Terry - Call Gus (aka Speedo) and see if he can help you out... . or call Bill K. I am on the slope or I would bring beer to make you feel better.

PS Meeting on the 9th... check the local chapters section.

Terry. I would call Bill K asap. It sounds like its rebuild time. There is no better time to beef this transmission up than now. Let us know what you find when you pull the pan,I gotta feeling theres going to be a lot of metal/trash in there. For your sake I hope its something simple but it sounds much more seroius.

who did the work

Did you do the work yourself? Or was it a shop? If it was a shop, then they should look at it or know about it. If it was you, then someone (you) had better:

1. Check fluid level and color

2. Pull pan and check for damage

I know that problems just outside of warranty can be covered or partially covered. If you had owned since new, and never had a problem before, you should be entitled to 50% + coverage on costs. If it had been in the shop for this (either by you or a previous owner, a VIN check by a dealer will show all past repair work done by dealerships), then you may be entitled to full coverage. If your truck is obviously bombed or modified, you may have a challenge.

My #1 and #2 above are for your protection, as if you did the work you could be blamed for causing the trans failure. A private trans shop is usually reliable for accurately assessing damages. I have seen dealership employees be out right asses when this thing happens near mileage warranty or happens to a parts warranty situation.

Best of luck.
