Bad injectors at 95K miles... is this normal?

Looks to me like capacity is stock and no drain plug? Still a better cooling alternative to stock even without the raised oil volume , unless my eyes are bad:D

Paraire Dog,

NICE find. . that is a REALLY good price!!! I balked when those were about $400, but for that price, I might go for one, since I have my front and rear diff housings drilled and plugged with the 1/8" NPT magnetic drain plug from a Harley motorcycle primary case, I don't need a drain plug on the cover, and likely I can find a spot on the new cover to install the rear diff temp probe that I am going to be installing soon.

Curious if you know if they make on for the FRONT diff as well, or are their interference issues with the fins??

Not sure if they make one for the front. I got this link from someone on RV.net.
Personally I like the idea of added cooling without added fluid. If the fluid is cool there's no need for more capacity and expense at service time.
When it comes time for me to do another service back there, I'll probably order one.

I looked at their website and i could not find a cover for the front AAM 9. 25 found one for the Dana 60 front cover though, Monte

Thanks for the link. I ordered mine as soon as I read you post. Great deal. Thanks. Looks like the cover will clear the spare tire on the short bed truck.

Bob4x4 is right, I had axle temp gage in the front of My 97/01/03 ,I have Never seen any temp above 160* running 2WD 110-130*, You are Much better off ALWAYS removing the covers and inspecting Diff/Bearings/Gears, We always remove the covers Unless the customer just want Drop and Fill, over the years I and Chris Have discovered Many Bad Carrier Bearings that if they were NOT replaced in Xxxx miles they would have taken out Ring & Pinion and diff, Now we are talking $2K+ in some cases.

The first time I changed the fluid in my front diff. it still had the marking compound on the teeth. Obviously it doesn't get much of a load put on it.

I do realize that the front diff doesn't heat up when not under load, but most of my mods are a blend of function and aesthetics and I thought it would be nice to have a pair of matching diff covers.

In terms of changing the diff fluid, the FIRST time I pulled the cover at 30k to change the fluid AND install the HD drain plug, the fluid in the front diff was WAY sludgier then in the rear diff. I think it had something to do with it being the first fluid change the truck had, since I bought it at 20k and was though the truck had been well maintained, it did NOT have the first interval diff fluid change at 15k. Since then I still remove the cover to inspect the gears every OTHER fluid change. It is still MUCH easier to remove the cover having drained the fluid first through the drain plug that I installed.

PD, Thanks for the link... got mine on order, it's already been shipped... only 1 left in stock.

I wonder whether they will be able to offer them at the same price.
