? about truck pulling..

Ok, I am gonna say this again, do you folks actually READ all the news, or just enough to get ticked off?

1) A Disney spokes person ALREADY addressed the Maher issue, saying basically, freedom of speech is no guiarantee of a TV show. I take this as meaning that Bill may find himself in the "non renewed" contract bin. So while you are busy vilifying ABC/Disney, they appear to already have acted. Seems to me that having Sears and other sponsors pull adverts was more effect than you would have anyway.

2) Disney is experiencing a postponement flood, but few cancellations as yet, according to CNN's "Moneyline" with Lou Dobbs.

When is this group going to learn that radical behavior on a whim or false assumption (as suggested) leads to what we saw on the 11th, while well reasoned and organized movements with well placed efforts have lasting effect? Burning Disney stuff is silly; turning off the TV and informing the advertiser on that show that you are not watching is much more productive and much less violent and radical.

Besides, exactly what message are you sending by burning Mickey and Pluto??? I thought Bill Maher was the problem?

NPS, max gets off on making his opinion become rules to live by. Its not that he is wrong, and its not that he is right. Its just an opinion to us, but to him it is the only way, no argument to it. He's right. We are wrong  as usual. I say, if burning a doll makes you feel better, more power to ya. Last I knew, there were no laws against it. Hell, you can burn the flag and legaly get away with it, as we all know. So, who cares about a doll. If that makes you feel better, go for it. Its legal.

Well, as usual the over reactionaries fail to see the point.

I'll say it again, ABC/ Disney ALREADY addressed the problem. Setting up a huge demonstration against them could have legal ramifications against the organizers of the demonstration, rather than the intended removal of Bill Maher. But if it makes you feel good to burn cartoons and act in a silly manner, feel free.

As usual, There are those who would rather be insulted by my words than actually use brain cells for the intended purpose of thinking. To those that think burning Disney merchandise will remove Bill Maher from the airwaves, I'd like to know exactly how that works. Boycotting his show is MUCH more to the point. So Chad, Yeah, you ARE wrong on this one.

As I said, Sears and other sponsors did FAR more damage than a bonfire fed by Mickey memorobilia ever could. Do you have that sort of financial clout with ABC/Disney? And when you go out and buy stuff to fuel this fire, who collects the profit in the end? Yeah, Disney does. When you publicize this bonfire, who collects the publicity? Disney. And who benefits from being able to come out and say you were wrong and point out that they have already taken steps due to other actions? Disney does... again.

But you are correct Chad, if all this makes ya feel better, go for it. But when you find out that Disney came out looking good because of your efforts, what will you choose to burn then???

Another observation: I suggested that we as a large nationwide organization could help in some way. But you all would prefer to burn "dolls" in protest rather than diesel fuel in aid.

Do what ya gotta do, ya will anyway.

I am wrong?? What did I do? I think I said the same thing you said, and that is : if burning a doll makes you feel better, go for it. No where did I imply that this would fix anything at Disney, ABC or Bill Maher?? So, how exactly am I wrong on this one, especially since I said the same thing you did, only sooner? As usual, you are correct 100% and we are 1,000% incorrect

Get a grip.

Burning the Disney stuff had serious ramifications with the wife and kids  so I had to settle for the boycott.

It wasn't a 'false assumption' btw.

Maher really did say we were cowards and terrorists are courageous. If you want to buy that left wing politically correct wackos 'defense' that by 'we' he didn't mean anyone in the military, the people, the cops, the firemen (so who did he mean  ) then you probably believe Lewinsky didn't have you-know-what with Klinton either.

Normally I'd cut a person some slack on this (Maher) but since he's been falsely advertising his left wing political correctness as politically incorrect I'm not inclined to.

Boycott ABC and Disney; don't want to upset the kiddies by torching their cartoons and dolls.

:p

I never watched Maher after he had Nugent on and started whining about Nuge being some sort of macho jerk for killing animals. Hunting and owning guns are both legitimate interests. If Maher wants to whine about em, he can do it without me watching.

I never saw him say the coward thing, though its been widely reported. I haven't watched ABC willingly for over 8 months. Unfortunately, they have had races and football on occasion.
