pulling a boat behind the travel trailer in AL?

Another brake controller ?

I have been asked to haul a tractor. Any thing I need to stop and see if time permits. I will probably get the tractor and go to my Dad's ranch in Oklahoma and take Interstate 40 all the way East and take 81 I think it is North. How about hills or any thing scenic out there. Will prolly leave a day or so after the 4th of July.

You will have a couple hills I bet when you are running 40 near Knoxville, but I have never been on that section of road, just know thats about where you will cross the mountains.

81 has a "real nice hill" I think is just after 77, but I never pay attention by that point of the trip so I can't remember. You will be going up the hill on 81, so just get in the climbing lane and take your time. There are a couple down hills on 81 in this mountain area with corners, just keep this in mind and don't heat up your brakes.

Of course these hills are nothing compaired to what you west coast guys talk about :)

trip to Roanoke Virginia

Dear Sir,

I live in Martinsville Virginia and work in Roanoke and Salem Virginia. you are coming to one of the best areas of the state!!

If you are going to be coming in on I 40 and turning on to I 81 You should be careful that part of interstate 81 is sort of narrow

There are no many hill or mountain to go over or down.

Salem (" http:www.ci.salem.va.us " ) and Roanoke

("http://www.roanokegov.com/WebMgmt/ywbase61b. nsf/vwContentFrame/N258TRW8729JEASEN?open ")

have some great wed sites that will show you some of the best places to stay and wonderful thing to do here.

The Blue Ridge Parkway comes through Roanoke which has a lot of great place to stop at

(A 469 mile long non-commercialized route in the mountains. The primary tourist season is May - October. Camping, hiking, fishing, bicycling, picnicking, overlooks and much more. Plenty of spring and fall color to observe. The speed limit is 45 MPH. Motor-coaches are allowed on the Parkway, however, short distances are recommended.

Admission Fee: None

The Parkway begins in Waynesboro, VA at milepost 0, and ends in Cherokee, NC at Milepost 469, connecting the Shenandoah National Park (Skyline Drive) to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Parkway runs parallel to interstate 81 , interstate 77 and interstate 40

I hope this helps !!

Well I can't add a lot to this except for what we learned when we came to TX and brought a tractor back a little over a year ago. The worst part of the trip was crossing AR. on I -40. We had a very bad case of bucking, caused by the road, and axle wrap. We stopped and moved the tractor on the trailer twice to change the weight distribution, but no help. With a 8300# tractor with a stuck engine moving it is not easy.

I will be traveling back to your area the beginning of June to pick up another tractor to haul back to Pittsburgh,PA.

What kind of tractor are you hauling

What kind of tractor are you hauling ?

do you buy and sell farm equipment?

My Father buy, resells and repairs farm equipment!

Hey Okie-Go!

I made the trip across aaaaARKansas on I-40 two or three years ago, and you are right about it making you buck. I have Rancho 9000's and I kept stopping and making adjustments to them until it smoothed out. I had the slide in on board. I think I had them turned to about a two.

Dewdo in the other Washington

I also have the 9000's. I don't buy or sell equipment but this is a good way to see some country and get a little cash for fuel in my pocket. I look at it like going on vacation and someone else buying the fuel. My wife and I are teachers so we will be out of school. :D I forgot about the tractor. It is a David Brown 990. Weighs about 4500 lbs.
