trip to Roanoke Virginia
Dear Sir,
I live in Martinsville Virginia and work in Roanoke and Salem Virginia. you are coming to one of the best areas of the state!!
If you are going to be coming in on I 40 and turning on to I 81 You should be careful that part of interstate 81 is sort of narrow
There are no many hill or mountain to go over or down.
Salem (" http:
www.ci.salem.va.us " ) and Roanoke
("http://www.roanokegov.com/WebMgmt/ywbase61b. nsf/vwContentFrame/N258TRW8729JEASEN?open ")
have some great wed sites that will show you some of the best places to stay and wonderful thing to do here.
The Blue Ridge Parkway comes through Roanoke which has a lot of great place to stop at
(A 469 mile long non-commercialized route in the mountains. The primary tourist season is May - October. Camping, hiking, fishing, bicycling, picnicking, overlooks and much more. Plenty of spring and fall color to observe. The speed limit is 45 MPH. Motor-coaches are allowed on the Parkway, however, short distances are recommended.
Admission Fee: None
The Parkway begins in Waynesboro, VA at milepost 0, and ends in Cherokee, NC at Milepost 469, connecting the Shenandoah National Park (Skyline Drive) to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Parkway runs parallel to interstate 81 , interstate 77 and interstate 40
