Would like to start bombing a little but have some questions about the Power Edge EZ.

After I get my gauges installed I was thinking of making this Module my first mod. Would ya'll recommend this? This truck wont see some real heavy pulling for quite some time and is more of my daily driver/project truck. Just never been satisfied with anything stock even though this truck has amply power already. They seem like an easy install and quick power ups. For those that have these and are still in warranty do you take them out before you go to the stealer? Is there anyway they can search the ECM for codes left by this box? Would like your opinion before I start dropping some bucks. THANKS!

Most folks say go ahead and get a Comp-type box. You can run it without the pump wire connection and it provides the same power as an EZ. With the pump wire connected you'll need to do transmission upgrades. I'm no expert there, mine has a clutch--which holds the Comp fine in levels 1,2,and 3.

I bought a used DDUFM (modified PE Comp) with the "race" option for little more than a new EZ.

The Comp box also mounts in-cab so you can change settings on the fly.

Good techs can find evidence of fueling box use if they look. But I'm not worried about warranty.

You might want to consider stage 2 or 3 injectors instead of the box. They're easier on the transmission but you'll need a boost module/elbow to fool the computer and create more boost to use the fuel.

Have fun.

Get the EZ.

When you get your transmission upgraded, go for an Edge Comp.

The Edge Comp is a little more involved to install, about 1 hour.

The EZ takes about 5-10 minutes, extremely simple and EZ!

When you take your truck to the dealer simply remove the EZ and any tell tale physical signs of its presence (like Velcro)

Come on over, I'll take you for a spin in mine. I have the comp without the pump wire hooked up, same as an EZ only adjustable in the cab. Also you have the option of more power when the need arises.

I like the EZ because you can remove it in about 2 minutes--I usually stop on the off-ramp to the stealers and remove mine--I leave the velcro--dare them to ask me or try to say velcro is illegal mod. !?! Always figured I would trade up to bigger box after the warranty and trans mods... . my 2 cents... . R, J. B. ;)

Get the Comp, then don't hook the pump wire until you are ready. The Comp would still be worth it just for the in-cab controls and more variations on the settings (smoke control).

If you install boxes, you ARE your own warranty station.

Regardless of whether or not YOUR dealer is good enough to "detect" your BOMB's, enough information is stored in the computer. If you have a problem, before they start installing new engines or new transmissions in your truck, they are going to get on the phone and talk to someone who is smart enough and experienced enough to help them uncover your mods. Removing an EZ may prevent "casual" discovery, but if they see a rare engine or transmission failure then it isn't going to be "casual" any more. You really need to sit down and decide which is more important to you: a warranty, or "more power".
