ok, ive done all this reading on the 3 turn steering box, i want to make sure that i get that box for my truck, i am replacing eveything up front, adding a 3rd gen track bar, dss stabilizer, borgeson steering shaft, new steering box, and lukes links. my question is on the PSC site they list a couple of different sterring boxes for the 93-02' dodge ram's. the most obvious the the SG-841MD, which specifies that this gear is for trucks equipped with cummins turbo diesel engines. the next gear is the SG-841M, which is listed as xtreme duty, now im confused on which one to get, the ratio for the cummins gear is 20:1, while the xtreme duty gear is 13-16:1 that indicates that it takes less turn of the steering wheel from lock to lock. finally they have the light valving gear, SG-841MX, which i dont think is the one i need. does anybody know the difference betwen the cummins gear, and the xtreme duty gear. im going to be placing a order soon, any info is greatly apreciated thanks.

I went through the same thing about a year ago. I ended up calling them to sort it out. I told them my truck model and asked for the steering box that had 3 turns. They have great customer service.

Ditto on don't get the 4&1/4 turn box, it will wander all over the road. You can turn the input shaft before you install to make sure you got the right box. 3 turn is what you want. If it does not come 3 turn I would send it back. I have had both on the same truck. Dodge gets their boxes from GM (the old saginaw box) they are excellent boxes but you can't tell what ratio looking at the outside. So best check it before you install it by counting the turns when you turn the input shaft from stop to stop. -- email address removed --

i spoke with someone at PSC yesterday, and talked about the 2 different ratios, he told me that the xtreme duty, and the cummins gears are the same as far as build quality and strength, but the xtreme gear is the 3 turn while, the cummins is 4 1/4, soo i put in an order for the xtreme duty gear. thanks for you help all.
