About to change my backup lp to a Walbro 392

I have a RASP (which runs really well) but I left the backup lp as the orgional Carter mounted on the frame (with a hobbs switch for activation). The RASP uses a bypass for presure adjustment and for excess fuel back to the tank.

I am thinking of changing the OEM Carter to a Walbro 392 (255 lpm).

What I am looking for is negative feedback about the Walbro 392 (255 lpm) as an lp. From threads over about the last year or so the Walbro seems to be holding its reputation as a good lp.

Particularly I am looking for NEGATIVE feedback about the Walbro 392 (255 lpm).

Thanks,

Bob Weis

The only negative feedback I have heard, is the pump screen, you need to put an inline fuel strainer before the pump. Fleetguard FF5079 will protect it, if it gets plugged (the pump screen), the pump will fail.

You will also need a bypass back to the tank for the Walbro.

I like mine, but it is a 391. I have never run short on fuel pressure. In fact the gauge hardly moves. Keep in mind mine is regulated via recirc. The pump is very quiet and so far performs exceeding my expectations for almost two years with out a hiccup.

I also installed a pre-screen. I got mine from Vulcan.
