I took a drive in a 93 D250 Club Cab my dealership took in trade this afternoon. It goes to auction in the morning if I don't jump on it. Engine started and ran great. Leaks a little oil. The Getrag shifts good and is very quiet. No noises from the rear. Brake pedal sinks to the floor, and the rear drums are wet with fluid, so that's an easy fix (maybe). Shocks are worn out. The body and interior are rough, and it has the Dodge lean. Not many options, other than a/c (it works), and intermittent wipers.

$1,500 is the asking price. I figure I'm ahead of the game if I drive it until the body falls off and transplant the good stuff into my 91 W250.

I've been looking for something that gets better mileage than the 04 3500 commuting to work and back, without having to worry about parking lot dings and the hassle of driving a dually through a parking structure. If the wife approves...

Sounds like a good plan, go for it. Is the "Getrag" an automatic transmission? If so, that would concern me because it's old.

The trans is the 5 speed manual. 3. 54 rear end ratio as well.

The odometer reads 147,000, but that only indicates when the speedo stopped working. The oldness doesn't scare me, just something new to tinker with and bomb cheaply.

Exactly what I did... theres probably a lot of people who wish they could find an ol'1st gen just to kick around in.
