I want Phantoms through out all my vehicles, I love em' what can I say. But I'm curious if I can use the blower one instead of the turbo. The only reason is, the boost only goes up to 35 & the blower goes up to 60. Does anybody have any information on this?

Thanks,

I have the blower guage in an ultra lite. When I ordered mine they didn't have the 60# boost yet. I can assure you they work just fine. The only difference seems to be the word Blower. :D

I'm ordering the AutoMeter Phantom series 60psi Blower gauge this week..... for the same reasons you have mentioned.

I like the way they look, and the brand has never really let me down so far...

Edit: The only way I have seen the 'Blower' guages in Phantom series is the 2-5/8" sizes... . not sure if this poses a problem for anyone running the smaller gauge pods.

Edit #2: Where is everyone hooking up the line for the boost/pressure gauges? I was thinking the AFC boost pressure signal line... . but I'm new to this and have no clue.

Edit #3: Piers has that nice little fitting for the 24-valve guys... I'm jealous!!

Edit #4: (Last one... . I swear!) Which AutoMeter Phantom series gauge is everyone using for EGT? Their catalog is so vague as to what each probe comes with what, etc... . HELP!

They're teh ones that are jealous of us. We dont need no special fitting.

Right there on the driver's side of the intake manifold, remove the 1/8" plug and install the boost fitting that should come with your gauge.

I read exactly what you are talking about RIGHT after I swore in my last 'edit' that I wouldn't do any more editing..... :D

Thanks for the heads up... .

Autometer

I have been using the Autometer blower gague on my puller for 5 years now and it works great. I have had no problems with viberation even though it isnt a fluid filled gague. The autometer co gets a vote from me.

Thanks guys. I didn't notice when I posted the question about the blower guage that it was the wrong size, I've opted for the 35lb turbo guage. I've also heard that there is a 60lb boost guage. i don't know if its a special order or something.

I did just order my guages, pod, fuel plate (#6) & turbo monitor. All in all, just about $700!

Thanks again,

Corey

I "think" the Blower gauge is only available in 2 5/8". The boost gauge is 2 1/16"

Have you taken that into account? Or did I mis read the AutoMeter website?

I have the 30in. Hg to 30psi Auto Meter Phantom 2-1/16" in my minivan... . I like it a lot.

Since the truck doesn't make much vacuum in the intake manifold I figured I go with the 60psi blower boost gauge... . the big 2-5/8" should work nicely. Then on to the EGT.....

Matt

They have an Autometer blower gauge in the Auto Wurks Diesel racer ( I believe it's the ultra-lite series) and yes, it has seen 60 psi's

So, what are the folks using when they go past 60psi?

I have a fuel pressure gauge (AutoMeter ProComp liquid filled) that goes to 100psi that I might have to put into action... :D

Alot of old #2 and a fair amount of Nitrous, according to Mike and Chris @ A. W. D. , unfortunately, that's when they grenaded the HX40 at Muncie. Certainly not for your daily driver, though I may try the newer NOS set up come spring, maybe sooner :D

Thanks guys,

I had opted to go with the 35 psi, but some how or another I ended up receiving the 30psi & 20psi vac guage. Not exactly what I wanted. I'm suspecting that the truck will produce over 30psi, and mostlikely over 35psi of boost with the fuel plate. Now I get to go through with the headache of returning it.

Thanks, tho, I may end up with the ultralite 60psi boost. It closely resembles the Phantom. If I place it at the bottom of the pillar, it may not be so bad. Now I'm looking for information as to suggestions to mount and wire these things up. Plus, I need to get intouch with the dealership to see about the paint.

Thanks again,

Corey
