So I guess my injection pump is toast. I spotted this on another board and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if it will work on my '92

New in box part # c3906052 cummins diesel fuel pump... box says its for a 93 cummins 5. 9... . still sealed in plastic... . other parts included..... not sure what all is there but there are a few other parts.

New in box.

900 obo

The tag on my truck reads as follows

CPL 1351

Injector 3918965

Eng 44669420

Ref 53010069A

Anybody with a membership to the Cummins website?? Who can work some part number magic and tell me if this will work?? The local injection shop quoted me $850 to rebuild my pump. I figure if I can get a new one for the same price (or even cheaper) I could try to sell my old one for a core and get a couple of dollars back.

I just spent about 30 min. digging through Cummins Quickserve. That system has no way for me to input a P/N and have it spit out what engine it goes to. Maybe a really good Cummins person can back track through their system and get you that info.

What I can tell you is the original P/N that came on a CPL1351 with manual transmission is 3802047 superseded to 3923346

You have to check the part number to see what the CPL was and match that to the application. There were a lot of applications in 93 that DID NOT have the correct pump for the Dodge application. Different DV's, different injector line mounts in the head, different KSB setups, different initial and timing advance maps. They will run but not correctly.

Good point and for that price I say PASS. Thats too close for a new known pump from a reliable shop. Or more than a good rebuild. Send it to Scheid for core.

I don't know if that one will work, but I know which ones *will* work with CPL 1351. My 92 had Cummins #3918991 (Bosch 0 460 426 184), which has been superceded by Cummins #3923346 (Bosch 0 460 426 205). If your pump has part number 3918991 and a mfg date code of 163 through 169, it's eligible for a free replacement under a Dodge recall.

He has posted it here in the TDR classifieds now, and has included more part numbers. It appears that the original part number that he gave/I posted was for a "kit" that includes a new TPS as well???

Anybody have any opinions with this new info. Seems to match up with some of the info that DBF posted, as well as one of the part numbers in this post.

Anybody know what a remote KSB means???

I already have a spare pump, so I don't need it. But if I wanted to buy it, I'd ask for a picture of the number plate on that pump. The inclusion of the line with 163-169 in it scares me; it looks as though it's out of my prior message about those pumps eligible for warranty replacement.

Picture of the number plate on the pump, please. We'll interpret it ourselves.

You guys think that $900 OBO is to much for a New pump and a new TPS??? I thought that a new pump from PDR was like $1300 and a TPS is like $100-$200 by itself.

I asked him for a pic of the number plate as well as an overall pic of everything that comes in this "kit". Should get it tonight.

I think what they are saying is that for just a little more you could get a pump with a warranty, you are only taking the sellers word that it is a new pump. I think I would definately want to hear the story of how he came to be in possession of this "new" pump.

Just my $. 02

It's probably not for a Dodge application, the remote KSB is a Cummins thing, the Dodge used it mounted on the pump. However I don't think that is a big deal if it comes with the remote lines. You might be able to use your old, pump mounted KSB on the new pump?
