THe abs light and the brake light are staying on. I notice the front brakes are getting heavy use. Complete brake job done four weeks ago. Is this a computerchip problem? Can I repair it myself?

Signature?

It might allow some of the more knowledgeable guys to help you better if they knew a bit about your truck. You should consider adding some info about your truck in your signature. Sorry I'm not much help w/ABS brakes. :(

If you have a truck newer than 2000, I believe, you can pull the trouble codes yourself and service manual will tell you what the problem is.

Something isn't releasing (heavy use) or the switch needs to be reset.

Has it been this way since the brake job? Can you take it back?

Not releasing: Could be an ABS valve (unlikely) or the caliper pins weren't cleaned and lubed properly or a stuck piston. Vehicle info would help a lot.

Switch reset: Where the single wire plugs into the master cylinder (or a little block attached to it), unhook the wire, unscrew and remove the switch. Screw it back in to reset and hook the wire back up.

i had the same lights on with a 99 quad cab 1500. i read on tdr that it was a problem with the sensor located on the rear differential. (sorry, i cant remember part number. ) i got a new one from dodge (approx $35) and changed it out in 10 minutes. this cleared the problem up.
