Took the truck in to have the valves adjusted. The mechanic that did the work stated that the brake light was on. The light was not on when I left the truck earlier that morning to have the valves adjusted. Mechanic steamed under the hood to clean things up.

Got home and checked the front brakes(see earlier post).

Anyway,took a trip 200 plus miles and the cruise control is very slow to respond. Set cc at 75mph and the truck slows to 70mph and very slowly(60 to 90 seconds) it gets to 75mph. Going uphill it will slow to 65mph(still in cc) or slower. The truck runs fine,its just the ABS and brake lights are on,and the cc is slow to respond.

Any sugestions? :{ :{

Sounds like in the steam cleaning process a vacuum line was knocked lose. You would probably be able to hear it if the Cummins wasn't so loud, you might still be able to hear it if you have someone else shut down the engine while your head's under the hood. Otherwise it's a visual check. Hard to believe that any decent mechanic would let a vehicle go with a warning light on.

JSmith,

I think illflem is right knocked vacuum line loose. I check th line going into the fire wall. I believe it goes in by the exuast side of engine.

Brake and abs warning lights will come on at same tinme if either system malfunctions. The abs black box is by brake booster on inside fender I believe this has vacuum line to it,also brake booster has low vacuum sensor in it.

I will look in manual to see what is related to both under the hood.
