I HAVE A 1995 2WD WITH A DIESEL THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT & ABS LIGHT COME ON AS SOON AS YOU TURN THE KEY AFTER A RESET HAVE TRIED GROUNDING DIAGNOSTIC PLUG BUT FLASHES A CODE 55 WITH MEANS NOTHING IN MANUAL HAVE TRIED A SPEED SENSOR & HAS HAD A NEW DUMP VALVE WITHIN THE LAST YEAR WONDERD IF ANYBODY HAD TROUBLES WITH ABS MODULE IF SO CAN YOU UNPLUG IT AND GET LIGHT OUT WITHOUT FURTHER PROBLEMS . ALSO WONDERED IF ANYBODY NEW LOCATION OF ABS MODULE BOOK SAYS BEHIND GLOVE BOX SO MUST HAVE TO REMOVE TOP OF DASH TO GET TO IT. OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS . THANKS B ADAIR

The code that it is falshing is 5. I do a lot of ABS work, our codes only go to 13 on RWAL systems, but do not remember a code 5,(old system can't remember everything) 9 & 11 are the common codes. The module is located behind the glove box. Open the glove box completely, bend the side tabs in, you will see a black box mounted on top of the a/c housing. Disconnect the connector for about 2 min, this will cancel the code. Reconnect and retest. If code comes back e-mail me,I will check the book tomorrow. :)

My 96 had that trouble also and I gave up trying to find it so I unplugged the ABS computer. On the 96 its straight forward from the shifter (5sp) and you can reach the plug by removing the knee bolster under the steering wheel. The plug is on top of the module. All the lights went after doing that and the truck stopped the same as always
