My Brother is having a problem with his '97.

The ABS light is on and the right front caliper is not releasing.

I don't have the '97 shop manual, and that's when they switched to the hydro boost.

Anyone have a similar sounding incident?

TIA

Joe

I doubt that it is your Power Brake Booster is causing the problem or the master cylinder. It could be the abs or rwal valve(which ever system he has), caliper piston sticking, rubber brake hose collapsing inside (happens with old hoses).

Found these in 96 service manual: brake pull

Contaminated lining in one caliper, seized caliper piston, binding caliper, loose caliper, rusty adapter/caliper slide surface, improper brake shoe, damaged rotor.

I was going for the seized caliper piston.

The culprit has just been found. Broken wire going to abs sensor,
