ABS Light ?

I am trying to figure out my abs light issue

I tested the rear speed sensor on the rear axle

there is no resistace (it is open)

is it supposed to open

this a a switch so not sure if you get any resistance. Is the speedo jumping?

9. REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR
Turn the ignition off. Connect the Rear Wheel Speed Sensor harness connector.
Measure the resistance between the Rear Wheel Speed Sensor (+) circuit and Rear Wheel Speed Sensor (-) circuit at the Controller Anti-lock Brake harness connector.

NOTE: The resistance should be approximately 1600-2300 ohms at 76 degrees F.

Is the resistance within the noted range?
Yes >> Go to 10
No >> Replace the Rear Wheel Speed Sensor in accordance with the Service Information.

I just disconnected the sensor connector at the diff and checked its resistance there. My speedo behavior never changed (that I noticed) with the bad rear sensor.

the thing I don't get is, my speedometer works just fine?
