Is there any easy way to lock-out the ABS system without dis-abling anything else? I have read of Guys pulling the fuse, but I recall that it affected other components as well. My concern is for snow and ice driving and my brother has a '01. 5 4X4 and thought it would be better "off road" without the ABS. Chris

I belive the ABS is disabled in 4X4 mode. As I understand it, the same switch that turns on the dash light signals the PCM to disable the ABS.

Extreme, I'll post this to my Brother. I guess the best way to test if it dis-ables it is to try a brake lockup in the dirt in 4WD. What about my 2WD? I have heard about some under short soiling experiences in snow and ice. Chris

Do a search on ABS. I studied the manual and it looks like the front wheel sensors can be disconnected and the rear sensor connected to the abs where the front was. This will effectively make the controller think every thing is fine. You will be stopping with control again.

Speaking of searches...

This POS search engine is about worthless...

Go try a search for ABS or DTT or BD or IAT, or ANY other acronym commonly used on this site-- it just spits out the "can't find it if 3 letters or less" junk. WHAT GOOD IS IT???
