The other day I shut off the truck and heard a humming sound under the hood, upon further inspection I found it to be the ABS motor was running. It would not shut off unless I pulled the fuse from the engine. I replaced front brake pads and rotors, the driver side pad and rotor was shot. Put the fuse back in and still have the same problem, the motor will not shut off, any ideas. Could it be the sensor on the rear differential, my ABS light was coming on before any of this happened?

Could be a wheel speed sensor that is going bad, or one of the sensor rings is possibly cracked. With out a scan tool that reads the ABS system, trouble shooting ABS systems is near impossible.

I do remember there were a batch of ABS systems on 1994-1995 Dodge Grand Caravans and Chrysler T/C minivans that had a wierd 4 wheel ABS system, that when going bad, would produce similar symptoms. Unfortunately, the only fix was to replace the ABS unit (on those units, it was a total PITA!), and they were very expensive. Of course the ABS system on these trucks is entirely different, so I doubt there is any correlation. Buy, you could have a problem with the ABS unit, unfortunately, without more information, I could not tell you.

Does you truck have 4 wheel ABS, or just rear wheel ABS?
