does anyone know where i can buy abs pipe and fittings? i would like to do the airbox deal in the lateset tdr but can't find any. heres what i need 1-90degree elbow 4"dia/// 1-2 foot section of abs pipe 4"dia/// 1- 4" abs toilet flange and glue/or prmer please help i've been to home depot menards true values ace no one?/

all homedepots should have those... unless they don't use abs in your area anymore????

in the plumbing section, look for the black pipes. there should be tons of the abs piping there and all the necessary related fittings and adheasive/solvent

Anybody know why it has to be ABS? What is that white schedule 40 pipe everyone carries? Is it CPCV? Why not use it?

If you can't find the black pipe use the white PVC pipe in schedule 40 and the schedule 80 connectors.

The ABS is waste disposal pipe and I believe a little thinner and is not very high pressure rating. The PVC is rated for hot and cold and pressure and is a little heavier. The CPVC is the same as PVC only rated for caustics.

If the ABS is what I am thinking of I would hesitate to use it in the heat and pressure of a torque tube. JMO.

yes it will be the dirty side under the airbox i wanted the black abs because it would match the air box and not look like it was modified thanks i will keep waitng to find it.

I went to Menards and bought flexible saw dust collection hose in 4" diameter and secured both ends with hose clamps and put a screw through the plastic fender splash guard to hold the bottom tube in place. Easy to install cut and move. Oo.

;) Rustoleum ;)

I did this mod last weekend. It worked!!! My vacum sensor on the filter box was always in the red,not any more!!!! I would go with schedule 40,i did. It is stronger(thicker). I bolted mine to a support brace, and the thicker pvc is going to be more sturdy. I do not know how the man in the article was able to go straight down from the toilet flange. I had to put in a 22 deg. a few inches from the toilet flange, then down to the 90 deg. where it will take air from the spot where the fog lights should be.

Were more "high tech" then that! Use the paint made for plastic :)

its also possible to heat the plastic conduit to the point where it becomes flexible and can mold it into any shape for mounting purposes. this can be done without burning the pipe or losing circumference in any of the bend areas. heta it up, hold it in place while it gets doused with water, works well

PVC is for cold water. CPVC is for hot.

Plumbers and electricians use a heat blanket that you can rent from most rental yards. It bends fairly easy when heated. A heat gun would work too.

Alot of areas are going to PVC for the waste lines. It saves on the expense and storage of having both PVC and ABS fittings and pipe.

I used 4in. toilet flange and flex aluminum duck as well, made shim from some thim puck board material I had. Is the 90* nessessay?, Custom built intake in tdr mag does not use a 90* intake.

thanks everyone i found out from a plumbing shop that abs is illegal to stock and sell in the state of wisconsin. 6 companies that produce it are under a class action lawsuit. so i went with pvc thanks again

Just bought my materials, went with the hard flex dryer hose so as not to deal with the slight bend. ?? How far below the bumper is everyone going with this new intake and is the 90 really going to pick up that much more air behind the airdam?? I have foglamps so that spot is occupied. :)

Thanks MZ
