Over the last 6 wks. I have had major brake issues with my '96 2500 4-wheel ABS, and every test and mechanic said they centered around my ABS. I have spoken with and tapped into every source I had and followed every lead I could find but could not find anyone who still carried the RWAL, CAB or HCU.
Just last week when I was about to give up, I found them at a popular on-line parts warehouse, however, when I signed in and placed them in the shopping cart they came up unavailable. Before I signed in they gave the Raybestos part numbers, which I failed to write down. I called customer service and they could not help. I called Raybestos customer service and they said that they had been unavailable for some time and would not supply them again. After speaking/begging with them for 5 min. the representative said he was sorry but the only thing he could do was to give me the number to their last supplier. YES!!! Another lead.
This was not a dead end. SIA has been rebuilding/servicing ABS units for quite awhile. Out of the 50 or so parts dealers I spoke with, Dodge as well, non were aware of anyone who could help with my system.
So my friends, BOOKMARK these guys. www.siaelec.com And talk to Kevin, he is the ABS guru there. Very very helpful and you will be shocked at the prices he can offer for diagnostics/service/repair. They service many other vehicles and do repair on ecu's as well.
If you have a Dodge pickup that's pre-97 with 4-wheel ABS you are especially needful of this contact. Hope this helps someone! Tell Kevin, Shannon sent you.
Cheers!
