My ABS started acting up last night, applying always at around 15mph down to like 5mph on dry pavement. I took apart the front end(replacing pads and rotors) and see where the sensors go into the hub assembly. I did some reading last night and don't think my problem is in the rear ABS due to my speedo working. Can I remove the sensors and clean them or check anything else with the rotors removed?? Are there any tests I can do? Thanks.

When you get the wheels off and or the rotors sometimes metal shaveings get around the magnet of the sensor and cause problums , also check for codes , but the right equipment is a big part of the new stuff , the codes will point it the direction of the prob. but testing is the only way to not put in the unneeded parts , for any kind of sensor that looks at movement you realy need a scope , for 2 reasonds , 1 to have a graph veiw 2 becouse of the speed of sampling the cirucit.

JKuhl, I have the same troubl with my 98 after I installed a Dana 80. Anytime, anywere the ABS will enguage at 15-0 mph. You can real quick OHM out your front and rear sensors to see if their good. I'll bet the are. If you can figure out whats doing this let me know. I finally unhooked my ABS Under the hood just to get this quit
