Anyone know much about these?

Had to hit the binders hard one time. The ABS light is now on. Went thru all the brakes and made sure they were okay. Even bled them to be sure. Have good solid pedal but light is still on and won't go out.

Anyone have any ideas ??

Could be the abs sensors. I don't recall differences in the older systems and later (if any). Are you 2 wheel ABS or 4 wheel ABS?

Check the codes. If you don't have a scanner go to a local Autozone and they will pull the codes for free.

Mine initially did the same thing: temporary solution was to disconnect the batteries for a few minutes and no light. The ABS and brake light returned to haunt me and replacement of the rear wheel sensor on the top of differential cured it!

My abs light comes on every so often and I don't even have ABS installed on my truck. :--)

You can't get one of these truck without at least RWAL. I tried to order mine without it.

I had a code 10 (bad connection) on my truck for years. The system seemed to work ok for the first three or four years I owned the truck. Then I started to get warning light problems. I tried everything to fix it including running an external twisted pair to eliminate all connectors. Three differential sensors didn't make any difference. It would almost always turn on the ABS and red brake warning lights as soon as I started it. If that did not happen, the first time I stopped the lights would come on. If I hit the brakes hard the lights would come on. I tried everything posted on these forums to try to fix it. One thing to note is that when the ABS warning light comes on the ABS (RWAL or all four) is disabled. I got tired of looking at the brake warning light so I unplugged the RWAL module. Now the brake warning light works right so I know that the park brake is on or whatever.

i had the same problem about 6 months ago... every so often i would get the red park brake light and abs lights on at the same time... . i replaced the abs fuse inside the cab and i never had another problem... . every now and then after the truck is started they will both come on for a second or two and then go right back off

I would first check for a trouble code. You can turn the key to the run position. (do not start the truck). Momentarily ground pin 13 of the data link connector. When the ground is removed the ABS light will begin to flash. It will be a long followed by one or more short flashes. Count the long and short flashes for a trouble code number.

This is all in the Dodge service manual. My problem was the speed sensor. The code took me right to it. I double checked the sensor with ohm meter by un-plugging on top of the rear axle. Mine gave no reading. Replaced it and all is fine now.

If you get a code number leave it here and I will look at my manual and post what it is.

Just my $0. 02 of what I did to fix mine.

My ABS problem was the Sensor in the Rear axel. Its a easy fix so long as the sensor did not break apart inside the differential. It just pull it out and pop in a new one.

My Y2k used to light up the ABS and BRAKE light whenever I'd really get in to the go pedal on loose gravel or dirt. :p It did that from day one. I suspect that the computer got confused by the large amount of wheel spin in the rear compared to the front and ran home to mommy by lighting up the warning lights and shutting down the ABS. Once I shut down the truck and restarted it the lights would go off. I had 4WAL.
