Well my AC Compressor crapped out on me on the way home from work today ( AC in the middle of January, thats some BS aint it!!).

I was cruisin down the highway, aind i noticed it wasnt blowin cold, so i turned it up more. All of a sudden it started blowin smoke from the vents So i shut 'er down and pulled on over. The pulley was still turnin so i guess the bearings are ok. Can these compressors be rebuilt? What options do i have?

Smoke from the vents?

Did it have a smell? kinda oily and stale? or like burning smoke? doesnt sound like its the compressor, but mebe the evaporator coil in the dash. you can check for pressure in the system by taking off one of the fill caps on the ac line, and pushing the valve with a small screwdriver very carefully. If you still have pressure, its somethin else.

ebay has a 91 coil for 10$ (only 22hrs left on it tho)

If it turns out to be the compressor, I bought mine from mopar4less for less money than a reman would cost.
