How do I adjust idle

My AC will get warm at idle. It will blow 45deg at center vent going down the road and about 1/2 the time does ok at stop lights and the other 1/2 will get up to 70deg waiting for light to change. This on a 90deg day very humid about 60%.

I have changed the fan clutch about 7000 miles ago but it is a Hayden not OEM, dont know if it is working correctly or not.

What to check 1st?

TIA

Alot of times when you stop at a stop light the fan does not draw enough air over the evaporator to draw the heat from the coolant away and the head pressure in the ac line builds up and the pump doesn't operate at it's most efficient, especially if you live in a warm or hot climate. When you take off, the fan draws air and ram air takes the heat away and it works good again. Hope this helps.

sorry, but I just noticed that you said that you have a clutch fan. Does it have a switch that plugs into your ac line down by your intercooler line on the passenger side? This switch is suppose to sence the head pressure and turn on your fan to draw air through the evaporater if it gets to warm.

Sounds like could be clutch fan not enough air at idle. Or the system has a over charge, has any refrigerant been added? If over charged the air flow across the condenser while moving could lower the high side pressure and it would work. But sitting still it will be way above design condenser temperture. One more thing one time i had a drier come apart and it will start to plug up the txv and the more rpms you have the more freon will be moving across the evap thus cooling at a higher rpm only. It will in time quit cooling because the low press switch will open and then no cooling at all. Put gauges on it and tell us the pressures. good luck
