we had a ac line repaired at a ac shop

the ac is cold but when on the highway the system ices up but in town it works fine

now we have wet carpet on the passenger side

ac is not dripping under truck now

what now

your drain is plugged, look out on the fire wall on the passenger side you will see a little tube sticking out, take a piece of heavy wire or coat hanger and clean it out.

Zach

hose is on and we will see

just sticking a drill bit in the hole

now it drips water long after the truck is off

could this be freezing up we just had a line a dryer and a orifice tube and refill

the compressor will cycle on low but on ac max it stays on

on a long trip the air flow stops and it you turn it off for a time it works for a short time and ices up again

If the coil is icing up it could be overcharged or there should be a freeze stat on the coil that trips the compressor clutch off until the stat clicks closed. I recall reading here that you can remove the blower motor and clean the drain and fan cage while it's out - motor removes from inside under dash. hope this helps - does the suction line back to the compressor ice up while the ac is on max, windows closed fan speed high? If so could be charge issue.

its to hot rite now to clean the fan

in south florida we just to stay cool this time of the year

but when it cools down we will give it a try

I just hAD THIS PROBLEM AND i USED A WET VAC AND VACCUMED THE CLOG AND EXTRA WATER OUT. AFTER THAT I VACUMED ABOUT TWO QUARTS OF WATER FROM UNDER THE VINYL FLOOR AND WEDGED THE FLOORING UP FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS IN THE HOT SUN. LEAVE WINDOWS DOWN A BIT TO LET THE MOISTURE ESCAPE.

Well I'm in Texas and its hotter here than in Florida. Take a wet vac hose and put it over youre drain tube below yout dryer like mentioned adove. Its about 2 inches long and black. Turn vacum on and you should have the clog cleared. If this doesn't help you may have a over charge problem as mentioned above.

ok then i give her a try

i have a hose with a clamp on there now ill just rig up my wet dry vac with a kit from home depo and see what happends

cool beans

thanks

and texas is hot!!!

we made a long trip with the truck and now she is not icing up

so I thank we are on the rite track the floor is not wet so all I can say is thanks so vary much if I had taken the truck back to the ac shop they would have banged me out of 2 or 3 hundred dollards to fix this

thanks TDR members
