06 mega

Blend door done twice

A few monthes ago i got the code for the viscous fan. It still seems to work fine though.

The ac is not very cool. especially at la ight or in less than 20 mph traffic. (seems worse than it was brand new). Today at 96* 35% humidity i got a reading of 60*, (windows and doors shut on max for five minutes at idle) from the vent with a meat thermator.

Does this appear normal?

48k and got the extdended warranty.

Thanks

Any ideas?

My wifes car just got down to 50* at them same test.

06 Acura Tl side ways v-6.

go figure. .

last year i thought mine was cooler than hers. .

i got a '06 mega my ac seems fine, it does take abit, alot more area to cool off, also if you use recirc, there is alot more hot air to cool down to. .

I was in wallyworld the other day and passed by some r134 cans with hose and gauge attached for ~$20. 00. You add till the gauge reads just past the green area into the blue. The can also contains oil and a sealer. Mine needed about half the can. Cools better now.

yea i know its a large cab. but how does the air temp coming out of the vents compare to a factory charged, properly working system? on max dash vents with temp gauge in the vent.

we just replaced the accumulator dryer on mine and charged it up.

44* air coming out of the vents. This it was around 85* out, and the truck was idling for around 5 minutes. YMMV

I have an '03, QC & the AC has been producing temps at the drivers vents of about 65* until you drive about 10 miles & it will come down to just above 60*. Took it in to a repair facility & they said the "low side" was a bit low & put some freon in. It started cooling better right away. However, it cools to just below 60* with a fair amount of driving, now. (I do live in Phoenix, AZ. & it's HOT!!!, 114*, today. )

The passenger side was hardly getting any cooling, at all, until the freon was topped off. It definately helped the passenger side.

My buddies with Duramaxes can get their temps into the 30's* at the vents.

Mine seems to cool well, (blows fog out the dash on a humid day) but then the whole system ices up and quits blowing. You hear the fan, but there is very little output. I turn off the AC and leave it on recirc and soon it starts blasting again.

Bighammer, if your evap is freezing up, you are low on R-134a and you need to add some. For me, it takes approx 1 12oz can and don't forget to add approx 2oz of 100 vis PAG oil.

Open your hood and you should see the liquid line going into the firewall completely iced up on the outside. After you add some R-134a, it will immediately thaw.
