2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission AC Question

This is probably dumb but I was wondering anyway.



When I am running my AC I will put it on the regular outside draw until I get some cool air inside the cab. Then I will turn the fan speed down one notch and use MAX AC for recirculation.



I was just wondering if using MAX AC puts any extra stress anywhere on the system? Is anything gonna fail quicker using MAX AC more thean vent AC?

Max A/C, once the cab is cooled down, is actually easier on the system for the following reasons:



1. - You're pulling (let's say) 75 degree cab air into the evaporator in the recirculate (Max) mode, not 90 degree outside air as you would be in the fresh mode. Sensible heat load is, therefore, lower in the recirculate (Max) mode.



2. - In the recirculate (Max) mode, the cab air, having passed over the evaporator coil numerous times, is dehumidified. In the fresh mode, the outside air, if the dew point is higher than the evaporator surface temperature, has to be dehumidified as it is cooled. Latent heat load is, therefore, lower in the recirculate (Max) mode.

I was thinking that it is better to run on MAX, I just wasn't sure. What you said makes good sense.

By using the max a/c setting you also avoid smelling the crankcase vent. I use

Rotella, so I use my Max setting for at least the first 500 miles.
