Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) AC quit blowing cold

All of a sudden my ac system only blows hot air
I know the 134a freon is full and the ac compressor is working the low side ac line gets frosty
Can it be a heater door or actuator or broken cable ??
This was a sudden action everything was working good till today now only hot air
My truck is a 2002 2500 5.9 cummins

Check the compressor to see if is cycling on and off in short cycles? Sounds like may be low on refrigerant by the line frosting up. bg

No i put my gauges on everything is working fine with the ac
Two weeks ago i did a complete evac of my ac system it held vacum for well over 30 mins I refilled with 26 oz of 134 freon and it was working great until today all of a sudden its blowing hot air
I ran it after I got home watched compressor its running fine and low side pressure is 45 psi and steady not cycling on and off like low freon

Is there a heater door that I can access or maybe I could pinch off the heater hoses ??
Im pretty sure its got to do with my heater over powering the ac system

Both evaporator lines cold?

Low pressure side lines are cold high pressure side lines are hot as they should be
I read your link I will pull that actuater off tomorrow and check that plastic link for the temp door
Hopefully mine isn't in the change over year 02-08 and it will not work if this is my problem

My bet is the blend door. When I watched the video it looks like a PIA to get to as they actually cut insulation out and then worked the phillips screw a quarter turn at a time with a 90 degree screw driver. Let us know how the removal goes.

I've been a mechanic for 50 years i have a large assortment of bent Phillips head screwdrivers even have one circle bend the PIA for me is making my 70 plus year old body bend to get under the dash

Yeah, I have that problem with this tri-level fusion in my neck. These things have the un-canny ability to limit one's activities.

I did order a coupler from heater treader I'll pull off the actuator motor when I get the part
I played with heater controls this morning and got it blowing cold air for now

Happy to report the heater treater thingy was a fix ac works great again and heater work as it should
A little disappointed in the quality of the part there was a burr on the inside for the blend door shaft had to use a file to smooth it out and I'm sure the r&r of these parts are included in the price but it seems a little pricey to me they do provide a screw in stud but only one why not change over both screws to studs ??

So did you have to pull back the carpet and cut out a chunk of the floor insulation like their video shows ?.

Dave no because after i got a mirror and looked at the back side I found there wasn't a rear screw in place so i just did the fix but I did install one of the studs that come in the kit in the rear screw area

Really, I will have to look at mine. I am not real keen on cutting anything on this truck but I know I will need the coupling.

I had a 1/4" ratcheting wrench that a Phillip driver bit fit into I was going to use that to access the rear screw
But i didn't need it

Lucky you. I was feeling around that actuator but did not really feel a screw head. I am severely limited on movement with this tri-level neck fusion. I will get the mirror out and check, I know it's a real tight space.
