My AC's not working. I'm not even hearing the AC clutch cycle. Any ideas? Can the Clutch be replaced separate of the whole compressor or is it a whole package deal?

It may need recharged. Mine did the same thing and I recharged it and fixed it. I know it took more than one can but I cant remember how many. Got the kit from the local Auto Zone.

Well, yesterday I added 1 can of refrig/red dye and did not get the system to cycle. After just reading your reply I added another can of straight 134a refrig and got the clutch to start cycling and the tubes from the accumulator are cold with condensation forming. I'm still concerned how the system got this low. I've checked the condenser for leaks and don't see any. I'm wondering if the UV test would show up better than looking for the red dye leaking out. Maybe it's in the fittings or orifice tube. Well I'm off to get another can.

The most likely place to leak is the compessor seal and they usually tend to leak more in the colder months because of inactivity. The second most likely place to find a leak is the (I know you don't want to hear this) evaperator coil. If you can see any oil residue around the clutch area, that is probably the leak. Good luck. bg

I hear another place is the area where the lines pass the oil filter.

there is lots of stuff they can rub on. I checked my O2 as soon as I got it home, sure enough it was hitting the intercooler line.

Well, I added another can of 134a and got the AC to 28 Deg's below the ambient temp. Still going toward the UV test. Thanks for the input. I'll be heading to N. Cali from the Seattle area for Gold Dredging in August and really need the AC.

I went to Meijer last night and passed through the automotive section and saw a recharging kit on sale. It had 2 regular cans of coolant and one with stop-leak in it. I bought the kit and I'm going to try it when it heats up a little. that would be great if that can stopped the leak that easy.
