Just got a new 06 quadcab long box 3500 dually. Am getting an acceleration "stutter" whan accelerating from a stop to about 5 miles an hour then it smooths out and is fine.

Anyone else expeirensing same ? Dealer is in the change some parts mode right now. had it in today and he ordered both driveshafts and carrier bearing.

I think you are experiencing "launch shudder. " I believe it to be U-joint bind. I had it too, cure for me was doing Klenger's lowering of the rear suspension. http://www.klenger.net/dodge/lowering-rear-end/slide01.html. I also ended up putting on Helwig traction control springs i got from J. C. Whitney and a set of Firestone Ride-Rite air bags along with Bilstein shocks. No more lauch shudder, mostly attributable to the Klenger mod. The rest eliminated axle wrap in low traction conditions and improved the ride quality in the rear.

If your talking about the motor stuttering a bit then I think I know what your talking about. I have a friend with an 06 MC and his does the same thing, its not the carrier bearing (He had a lifted superduty that we had spaced the bearing so we know its not that) I put a Juice/att on it and it still does it, no codes or any other related problems, just a slight hesitation on take off till right before second gear then its fine?

Me Too

I had the same problem until I put my fiberglass cap on and it took 99% of it away.

I still get very little sometimes, it's all in the angle of the drive line. .
