Just posted this thread in the 2nd gen 12 valve, oops. Anyway, recently my foot pedal sticks, can't accelerate in Drive/fwd only, If I push on the pedal to hard the cable pops out of the pedal arm. I checked all linkage at the pump and all seems right. Is there something on the trans I should be looking at? Thanks. Tom L.

I am assuming that you have an auto trans. Sounds to me like the kickdown cable is binding up. The one on my 90 has a noticable catch to it, but it still works. I would unhook the kickdown, just to see if the throttle frees up. DO NOT DRIVE it with the kickdown unhooked. This controls the line pressure of the trans.

Anybody else with more auto experiance then me, please speak up.

Accelerator sticking/Kick down linkage

Michael, you hit it, the kick down was not connected and I guess the problem was there. I re connected it and lubed cable/linkage and it works fine again. The Truck is not driven much these days as I have an 02 2500 TD powered that is its replacement. I doubt if there was more than 20 miles put on it this year so don't think any damage occurred as you mention. Thanks. Tom
