i just went out and looked at my truck and i am positive there is no cable. maybe the 03's still had them. i guess the sensor is part of my peddle assembly, perhaps a rheostat?

I am not saying i don't have wires incase there was confusion on that. i have wires, just no mechanical cable.

Fascinating. I had no idea they moved the APPS to the back of the pedal (which is where it should be, in my opinion). That's great news for late-model owners. When did this change happen?

I think it started with the 05 trucks and also think that this change was the reason that the early 05 truck could not have the adjustable pedals as some redesigning was needed.

Had nothing to do with the pedals. I have both a 04. 5 and a 05, and the firewall is exactly the same. The only thing different is the apps is mounted as part of the throttle assembly. My guess is cost savings (one less cable to install)

It was a part of the emmissions control with the ecm. Like the hemi the computer actually controlls the rate in which the throttle is opened. So theres alot more lag on the throttle side now due to the comp controlling everything. Big difference between the two. Im just curious if theres a way calibrate the new APPS like there was on the older trucks.
