Trying to choose between the two. Anyone have any suggestions. Own one of them?
Truxedo Truxport vs Access® Roll-Up Cover
So far my main considerations are the position of the rails and warranty (Access parallel to top of bed rails, Lifetime Warranty), (Truxedo on top of bed rails, 5 year)
Cost. Can get the Truxport online for 210 shipped. Can get the Access for 346 installed from a local dealer which is cheapest I can find but there is a story behind that (below).
So any suggestions, thoughts on current owners of these covers? My concern about rails for the cover is because I tow a 5th wheel and I am researching if I will have a issue if I get into a tight spot with the king pin bumping into those rails.
--Dealer Story--
My only issue with the dealer is this long story. This dealer is the local Line-X dealer and I got a liner put in on Aug 3, and for the state fair they went on sale Aug 7th. I stopped in to their booth there and asked if I could get the fair special ($70 cheaper) as it was only 3 days since I had the liner put in. I was given a stern No for a response. they asked if I was interested in anthing else for the truck and I said looking into a rollup cover, but wasn't sure if I wanted to contiune doing business with a company that treated customers like this. I left pi$$ed off and sent a email the next day explaining my frustration and annoycene with the response I had received. I got a responce back of the fair special for the cover and they would take that $70 off the cover. So the only way to get that fair price for the liner is to spend more money there buying the cover at a cheaper rate.
I was very suprised by the response I got from them. 3 days? 3 days since I had the liner installed it went on sale. Its not like I came back in 30 days later, 3 DAYS! When asked why wasn't I told about the upcoming deals I was told that they were not sure they where going to be at the fair, which is not possible. You don't show up to the iowa state fair and say, got room for us?
I guess they don't know about the rule of it takes 10 happy customers to equal 1 upset customer. That 1 customer tells everyone what happend. What happend to word of mouth business?
Still irked by this. So do I give them more business to get a cheaper rate? humm. .
