This may sound like an advertisement but it's not. I bought an Access roll-up tonneau because I needed access to the bed and a weatherproof cover over it too. Then it became apparent I would need a preservative for it (also to keep it nice and black
), so I called the Access factory and asked for a recommendation. They suggested any preservative that uses a water base with lanolin - do NOT use silicon or citrus, they said.
All the usual products I found - McGuire, etc. - have silicon in it, but I finally found a product by Protective Products Corp. (PPC) called Formula 2 Protectant/Cleaner that works wonderfully well.
I buy it by the gallon straight from the factory - 888. 772. 1277 - or online at www.protectiveproductscorp.com because no one locally (Colorado Springs) carries it. PPC also carries other stuff along the same line, but I've never tried any of it.
I talked to the owner, a fellow named Dan or Dean Bider, who answered the phone when I called (!). He said NAPA stores used to carry his stuff but stopped when they began carrying a cheaper product. Bider agrees his product is expensive but said he refuses to compromise quality.
Again, this is a personal recommendation, not an advertisement. Hope it's helpful to you guys using the Access roll-up tonneau.
