Accessories Directly to Battery

When an accessory requiring power is directly connected to one of the batteries, how does one make the connection?

Is there an available device(s) available which simplifies this? Does it make a difference which battery the connection is made to?

Advantages/disadvantages??

read through this post and it will answer some questions for you. as far as the physical connection to the battery, just us a heavy electrical lug that has a large enough hole in it to fit on the bolt on the battery. then remove the nut, slip on the lug with wire attached and replace nut.

I just use a large crimp type ring terminal under the battery clamp tightening nut with an inline fuse close by, either battery. Advantages cheap, easy. Disadvantages - might corrode?



I've also drilled, tapped and screwed a 1/4'' stud with wingnut into the top of positive battery terminal.

What Illflem said, you can also apply liquid electrical tape to avoid corrosion.

Also cool to put on the turnbuckle ends, won't markup the casing of the wastegate.

Good stuff but,

Problem I've had with the liquid electrical tape is that once you open the can it goes bad fast. Think of lots of things to use it on before you open it. I gooped it all over a torn nagahide forklift seat, works great.
