Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) acetone

Has anyone heard about using a couple oz of acetone per tank, heard it raises your mpg about 20%?

I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig. Sounds like a bad thing to me, but I guess an ounce or two in a full tank couldn't hurt too much.

it does work... on some vehicles. it won't give you 20% more mpg tho.



I haven't used it yet on the ctd, but I did try it in my gasser. it added about 1. 5 mpg on the highway, and didn't really seem to help much in the city. This is in a car that gets 27-28 on the highway w/o acetone.



the ratio is no more than 3 oz per 10 gals.



it is less for diesel, but not sure how much less.

There is a theard about this, maybe in the first gen or 2cn 24v gen. the downside was it eats some of the plastic parts, but will reduce smoke and increase preformance.
