Gott mit uns, und wir mit Gott,

So setzen wir die Schiffahrt fort.

Jeder tu, was sich gebührt,

Dann wird das Schiff recht gut geführt.

2. Jetzt fahr ich hin in stillem Frieden

Und laß die Meinen hinter mich.

Weil es der Höchste so beschieden,

Drum fällt es niemals schwer für mich.



3. So hoff ich denn, es wird geschehen,

Daß wir uns freudig wiedersehen,

Ob die Winde stürmen auf der Lebensbahn,

Oder sich Wogen türmen gegen meinen Kahn.





God is with us, and we are with God,

So we continue our journey Everybody does what they have to do

Then the ship will be under good leadership.



Now I travel in silent peace

And leave the ones that where mine behind me

Because the one above described it so

That is why it is not that hard for me.



So I hope it comes to pass

That we will happily see each other again,

Even if the winds are high on our life's journey

or the waves towering against our ship.
