Most people do think I'm nuts, but... .

Apparently the two months last Fall that the truck was parked outside lead to some interesting squirrel storage locations.

Squirrels do wierd things to my truck & I drive it everyday.

I've got acorns stored inside my hood, everytime I open it I get to hear them roll.

Squirrels ????. Chipmunks . They were plentiful and I often found acorns and other seed type items on the manifolds of several vehicles we owned. They nearly filled up an airbox on our old 92 Pontiac Bonneville. My 2 cents.

get some corn and let it sit in some good NON enviroment friendly anti-freeze (about 2 weeks) then put em by your truck

the peta peopl will shoot me but thats how we get rid of em

Im sure acorns soaked for awhile will work too

I hate meece's to pieces.

Les, beware now that you found the rodents stash. Two years ago I thought I had a squirrel problem. I had mis-placed one of my fishing rod and reels, thought I had left it in my bass boat. When I lifted the rod box lid, it was over half full of pears (pear tree next to my awning). I chunked them out, re-tarped the boat. About a month later went to check for something else in the boat,no more pears in rod box, but all the trim on the seats was chewed off, transducer cable chewed into serveral places, anchor rope shredded, throw cushion life preserver shredded, and a hole the size of a basketball chewed out in subflooring back where you keep fuel tanks and batteries. I P. O. something real bad throwing away those pears. I finally ended up catching two rats both over a foot long with a set of choppers over a inch long.

Probably around a thousand dollars worth of damage done.

Hee hee! Sorry but I got a chuckle out of this. I probably wouldn't think it was funny if it happened to me, though. :(

My first thought was: "WOW, his turbo must really ROCK to be sucking acorns RIGHT OFF THE TREES as he drives by... . "

:D

I was about 30 miles into my drive to work one morning and thought I saw a strange shadow or something blow across under the back edge of my hood. A second later I got another good look at a pretty big deer mouse that unknowingly built a motor home the previous night! I figure the golf course in suburbia could use some new mouse genes and I'm pretty sure he made it.

you know your a diesel head when...

You turned the chipmunks and squirrels by your house into a diesel heads. :--)

Maybe they just wanted their nuts deshelled by the turbo :-laf

Haven't had squirrel or mice problems here in Reno, but I remember growing up, my dad had a Corvair. Wait til a squirrel or mouse meets his maker in your heater box. Doesn't smell good! Was the squirrel climbing up the inside of your fender and into the air box? A BHAF would solve that problem!;)

Tell me how BHAF works.

Yes, they were apparently climbing up the opening, tube, and entering the bottom of the air box. I was thinking about putting some chicken wire in the opening... or squirrel wire !!

You pull the entire box out of the truck. The BHAF is just a great big filter. They'd have to chew through the wire frame and media to put acorns in it. #ad

Missed the year of your truck the first time I looked. I don't know if there is a BHAF (Big honkin' air filter) for that year.

At the dealership I work at in central Pa, we have at least 4 or 5 vehicles a year come in with rodent stashes or chewed up wiring costing the customers thousands of dollars in repairs. I do not know the best solution but I would not park where I had been parking when the stashes occur, or next time it may be your wiring. Seems these guys will eat anything.
