So the subject EVICT message comes on yesterday while I'm driving - empty, highway speeds, fully warmed up. I scroll through and see that the message is displayed in the message center while I'm still driving. After I shut the truck down, when returned again a couple hours later, the message was gone.

Something to to be concerned about? Should I see the dealer or wait yo see if it comes on again?

Thanks all-

Greg

If the error disappeared on its own, then the problem corrected itself. It's usually a fault when the motor in the intake can't rotate the flappers. I had this happen to me in the winter. Took 3 starts, but the message disappeared on its own. If it was consistently on well beyond 3 starting cycles, then I'd be concerned.

Bringing this back to the top. Anybody else getting this message? I've had it twice now about a month apart right on start up. It goes off right away, no CEL no message stored in the EVIC.

It seems others have said recently that there was debris inside the air box.....and/or a collapsed intake tube that is behind the airbox. You have to remove the wheel liner to even see this tube.
