adapter question

When mating a nv4500 to a dodge np205 t-case is there a factory coupler that goes between the two or is there an aftermarket? I bought a t-case but now looks like I need a coupler between them. thanks,

For the 205 tcase there is a coupler. Is the tcase a 23 or 29 spline? Manuals are all 29 spline.

It came off of a 727 but i havent counted the splines. Do you know if i can get the coupler from advanced adapters or is it something i have to get from another truck? thanks,

It would be the 23spline then. Not sure if AA would have it, but you can ask them.

29 spline Drive Coupling Mopar 1-04505302. I just bought a 23 spline drive coupling from Dodge but forgot to mark down the numebr in my book. I have bought both 23 and 29 spline couplings from Dodge Parts, no problem.

A dodge diesel or V10 NV4500 has a 29 spline output so it would not hook to the 23 spline coupler. A dodge V8 Nv4500 is 23 spline output so it would. If you have the diesel NV4500 which I assume you do you will need to change the input shaft in the 205 to a 29 spline and get the 29 spline coupler. Let me also mention another item. You will need the cast iron adapter that bolts between the transmission and transfer case if you dont have it. The adapter is the same for auto and manual transmissions. The end that attaches to the transfercase is kind of a figure 8 patern the other end will be a round patern that matches the transmission.
