Hi guys,
I recently put in an external voltage regulator (as per instructions found in the TDR forums to keep from buying an ECU). According to my multi-meter it's putting out 15. 5 volts, but the dash guage is pegged out at 18 volts and the "check guages" bell and light are on. A buddy told me that I need to put in an aftermarket voltage guage to get the correct reading on voltage because the ECU thinks it's "throat has been cut", that's why the needle's pegged out on the voltmeter.
NOW, the question - - - - can I tap the wires from the ECU back in to the system to stop the bells & check guages lights ?? Is there another remedy ? - - - - OR - - - - should I just ignore all of that & just be grateful that the alternator is putting out again ???
Thanks, Richie
